Samaritan Woman At The Well

Posted on Updated on

The Samaritan woman was rejected by those around her because of her immorality. Jesus did not reject her. He sought her, had compassion for her and ministered to her by preaching to her the good news of salvation. Our kids need to understand that we also need to show the same love that Jesus showed to the Samaritan woman by sharing the gospel and telling others about Jesus.

Samaritan Woman At The Well

The Instructions seem complex, but you can easily assemble the craft just by looking at picture.

Instructions

  1. Print the template on card stock. (Template)
  2. Color and cut out all of the pieces.
  3. Color a lollipop stick brown.
  4. Glue the 4 wooden posts together. You will be left with two wooden post pieces. On one of the sides for each post will be a piece with the black dot.
  5. Take the well piece and fold on the solid lines creating the creases that will help you assemble the well.
  6. Glue the sides of the well together by adding glue to the side tab of the well.
  7. Glue the wooden posts to the inside of the well.
  8. Glue the top of the well piece in place.
  9. Puncture the black dots on the wooden posts. Then with a toothpick make the hole larger.
  10. Stick the colored lollipop stick through each of the holes on the wooden posts.
  11. Glue two pieces of black or brown yarn/string to the back of the wooden barrel and the other end to the colored popsicle stick.

This craft can also be used for the stories of:

Jacobs Hairy Arms

Posted on Updated on

Rather than wait for God to work for Jacob, Rebekah took things into her own hands. Rebekah convinced Jacob to trick Isaac and steal the blessing. As a result Esau became very angry at Jacob and vowed to kill him. Jacob had to leave his home and family.

When we are waiting for God to act in a situation there are two ways in which we can respond. We can trust God and know that He is working for us or we can become impatient and act on our own. And as we can see from this story in the Bible the results are not good.

This is the lesson we want our kiddos to go home with. That in hard and difficult situations, even if we can not see God acting on our behalf, we still need to place our faith in Him and trust that He is working for us.

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness…” 2 Peter 3:9

This craft will remind the kiddos of how Jacob and Rebekah both took matters into their own hand instead of trusting in the timing of God.

Instructions
  1. Print the template. (Template)
  2. Trace them onto a foam sheet. The color of the foam sheet does not matter as it will be covered with cotton balls.
  3. Cut out both shapes from the foam sheet.
  4. Using a glue gun, glue two pipe cleaners/chenille stems to each foam shape. One near the narrow edge and one towards the wider edge. Again do this for both foam shapes.
  5. Glue cotton balls to the foam shapes using regular glue. Cover completely. Slightly pull apart each cotton ball before placing it on the foam sheet. This way you will need less of them.
  6. At this point if your kids want to, they can use a marker to color the cotton balls. Recommended colors: grey, black, brown, or yellow.

Abraham Offers Isaac

A person of faith walks ahead in obedience even though they do not see the outcome of the situation. Faith acts on the promises of God. Abraham did not know how Gods promise of many decedents would be fulfilled if he sacrificed Isaac, but he still obeyed God. He still trusted and had faith that God was going to keep His promises.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
