Crossing The Jordan

Posted on

A diorama style craft to be used for the story of the Israelites crossing the Jordan and entering the promised land.

“14 So when the people set out from their tents to cross the Jordan with the priests carrying the ark of the covenant before the people, 15 and when those who carried the ark came into the Jordan, and the feet of the priests carrying the ark were dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the days of harvest), 16 the waters which were [d]flowing down from above stood and rose up in one heap, a great distance away at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those which were [e]flowing down toward the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. So the people crossed opposite Jericho. 17 And the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan while all Israel crossed on dry ground until all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan.” Joshua 3:14-17

Rahab Hides The Two Spies

Posted on

The city of Jericho feared the God of the Israelites. They had heard how He had freed them from Egypt and helped them cross the Red Sea.

Rahab feared God as well.

The city wanted to capture the spies and destroy them, but not Rahab. Rahab believed that God was the one true God and set out to protect the spies. Her household was saved because of her faith. Rahab serves as a good example of salvation through faith.

Twelve Spies Binoculars

With these spy binoculars, your kids will also be able to spy on the Promise Land.

They will also serve as a reminder of the complete faith and trust that both Caleb and Joshua had for God and His promises.

“7 And they spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “The land which we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8 If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us—a land which flows with milk and honey. 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord; and do not fear the people of the land, for they will be our prey. Their protection has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.” Numbers 14:7-9
