Wolves In Sheeps Clothing
Some people are like wolves who pretend to be sheep. They act and dress like the sheep, only to destroy the lambs once they are among them. We should teach our kids that the Bible tells us how we can figure out which sheep are true sheep, and which are wolves. This emphasizes the importance of reading and knowing Scripture.
Instructions
- Print the template. (Template)
- Color the mask.
- Cut it out.
- Glue the mask onto a piece of cardstock.
- Cut out the mask again, including the eyes.
- Glue a large popsicle stick to the bottom of the mask.
Proclaim Him Megaphone
This craft will remind your kids that they can share the messages of the Gospel with all of their friends. They can learn to spread the message of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for the atonement of our sins.
“Then he told them: Go and preach the good news to everyone in the world.” Mark 16:15
Instructions
- Print the templates. You will need an 8.5″ x 14″ or “Legal” sheet of paper. (Template)
- Cut out the templates.
- Cut out the bottom of a 16 oz. paper or styrofoam cup.
- Wrap the template around the paper or styrofoam cup.
- Hold it together with two paper clips and then glue it in place.
- Cut off any excess overhang of the paper wrapped around the cup.
- With a one hole punch, punch two holes on opposite sides of the bottom of the cup.
- Tie a piece of yarn around both holes creating a neck strap.
- Finally decorate the cup. I have included the words “Jesus Saves”. You can also use glitter, stickers or paint. Let your kids use their imagination.
Faith Comes By Hearing
Children don’t understand everything they read in the Bible, but they should be taught the importance of reading the Bible at an early age. Teach them the importance of reading Scripture every day. Let their lives be saturated by the Word Of God so they cultivate a habit of turning to the Bible for any question they might have.
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17
Suggestions
This craft can also be used for the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10.
Instructions
- Print the templates. I have included three different sizes of ears. (Template)
- Color the head and the ears.
- Cut out all of the pieces.
- Glue the long rectangle pieces to each side of the head/hair piece.
- Wrap the band around your kids head. Once you have the desired length use a couple of paper clips or a piece of tape to hold the shape. Then add glue to set it in place.
- Fold back the square on each ear.
- Add glue to each square on each ear and with the band around the childs head stick the ears in place.
I have included templates for both boys and girls.
Sheep Puppet
Kids will love making the sheep puppet and reenacting Bible stories. You can even use the puppet to teach your lesson. This craft is very versatile and can be used for different Bible stories. It can be used for:
- The story of Cain and Abel’s offerings to God. (Genesis 4)
- The description of Jesus as the Good Shepherd. (John 10:1-17)
- The Biblical description of Jesus as The Lamb of God. (John 1:29-35)
- Jesus sacrificial death. (Isaiah 53)
- Psalm 23
- The shepherds visiting Christ on the night of His birth. (Luke 2:7-20)
- Israel’s practice of burnt offerings.
- The Passover. (Exodus 12)
- The story of David. (1 Samuel 17)
- The description of false teachers and prophets as wolves in sheeps clothing. (Matthew 7:15-20)
- Teaching about the final judgement. (Matthew 25:32-33)
Instructions
- Print the template page onto a sheet of cardstock. (Template)
- Color the arms.
- Cut out each piece.
- Glue the arms to the body of the sheep.
- Assemble the head by first gluing on the ears and then the top wool.
- Glue the head onto the body of the sheep.
- Finally cut out the two ovals to make the finger holes.
You can also glue pieces of cotton balls to the body and head of the sheep.
Peter Denies Jesus
Peter boldly told Christ that he would never deny Him, but when Jesus was arrested that is exactly what Peter did. When the rooster crowed the third time he realized what he had done, just as Jesus foretold. Peter left the courtyard crying bitterly in shame.
We like to think we would never deny Christ the way Peter did, but there are many ways in which we could do this every day- not saying grace in front of friends and family that are unbelievers, following the crowd so we do not seem uncool, giving our own opinion and not saying what the Bible says so no one will be offended, and not witnessing to those that are around us. Thankfully Jesus offers us mercy, and forgiveness by His perfect love. He can restore us just like He mercifully did with Peter.
“I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed.” Psalm 34:4-5
Instructions
- Print and color the templates. (Template)
- Cut out all the pieces.
- Glue the feet, wings and comb to the body of the rooster.
- Finally glue four feathers to each side of the rooster.
You can also use large craft feathers in place of the paper feathers.
Samson’s Strength
This craft will bring out the creativity in your kids. Kids love reading the story of strong Samson and this craft will help them remember your lesson. Be creative with the materials you use.
Instructions
- Print and color the template. (Template)
- Depending on the material you use: String– Cut and glue different lengths of string to the top of Samson’s head. You can even mix and match colors. Cooked Spaghetti– When you cook the spaghetti, cook it in batches and add food coloring to the water. Playdough– Use homemade or store bought playdough.
If you laminate the page after you color it, you will get many uses out of this activity.
The Day Of Pentecost
You can find this craft all over the internet. Its very quick and easy to make, but kids love making it. This craft is a good way of illustrating the story of the day of pentecost to your kids. When they finish making this craft each child will have their very own “tongue as of fire.”
Instructions
- Print the template. (Template)
- Cut out all the pieces.
- Use the flame pieces as templates to trace them onto red, yellow and orange construction paper.
- Cut out the flame pieces and glue the pieces together.
- Grab the rectangle templates and trace the larger pieces onto the color of your kids choice and the smaller piece onto red construction paper. You will need three of each.
- Glue the smaller pieces to the larger pieces. Then glue the assembled parts together creating one long band.
- Place the band in front of your child and then glue the flame to the center of the band.
- Wrap the band around your kids head. Once you have the desired length use a couple of paper clips or a piece of tape to hold the shape. Then add glue to set it in place.
Jesus Heals A Paralytic Man
A cute craft to help the kiddos remember the story of Jesus healing a paralytic man. This craft can be assembled quickly if everything is printed onto colored paper or construction paper.
Instructions
- Print the templates onto different colored paper or construction paper. (Template)
- Cut the first page in half. Then take an xacto knife and cut along the parallel lines. This part should be done by an adult.
- Cut out the strips from the second page.
- Weave the strips into the rectangular base. Rotate going over and under with every new strip to create a weaving pattern.
- Cut out the feet.
- Finally glue on the feet to the mat by arranging the feet on the mat and then gluing them in place.
I have also included the words “Jesus Heals” in case you would like to add it to the mat.
Elisha Helps A Widow Match Game
A fun game to play to help accompany the story of Elisha helping the widow.
Instructions
- Print the templates. Each child will only need twelve cards (six pairs). They can pick and choose between the different jars. (Template)
- Color all the jars including the ones with the words. (The cards with the words should be colored the same color).
- Cut out all of the cards.
- Glue the the six pairs of cards onto construction paper.
- Cut out the six pairs of cards from the construction paper.
- Finally glue the twelve cards with the words to the back of the construction paper cards.
If you laminate the cards they will last for a long time. You can use self laminating sheets or contact paper.
Elisha And The Jar Of Oil
This craft will be a great reminder that God provides for our needs.
Instructions
- Print the templates. (Template)
- Color the main image and the jars.
- After the jars are colored in cut them out.
- Glue the jars onto the main image.
