By His Wounds We Are Healed Card

Instructions

  1. Print the template. (Template)
  2. Color and cut out all of the pieces.
  3. Glue the hands to the front of the card piece.
  4. If you use the card piece that does not have the band-aid embedded, assemble it by folding the rectangular piece in an accordion fold, then glue the band-aid onto that piece.

These are the crafts that can be used with the Lifeway’s Game On! V.B.S. program. 

Although most Vacation Bible School curriculum programs provide or sell their own Bible crafts, many times they have nothing to do with the Bible story of the day or not much thought went into designing them in the first place.

My hope is that these crafts will help make planning your Vacation Bible School a little less stressful.

John 3:16 Door Hanger

John 3:16 is probably the most well-known verse in the Bible.

This quick craft will go well with your study on the love of God and is very customizable.

Instructions

  1. Print the template on cardstock. (Template)
  2. Cut out both of the two largest pieces.
  3. Glue them to two different colors of construction paper.
  4. Cut both pieces out.
  5. From the smaller piece cut out the hole for the door knob.
  6. Glue the smaller piece onto the larger piece.
  7. Cut out the hole for the door knob one more time.
  8. Color and cut out the world and the heart template pieces.
  9. Glue the world figure to the assembled piece.
  10. Lastly, glue on the hearts around the craft.

You can also use felt, craft foam, glitter or stickers.

Paper Plate Rooster

This is an easy rooster craft for the story of Peter’s denial of Jesus.

Instructions

  1. Print the template on cardstock. (Template)
  2. Color a paper plate the same color as you will color the body of the rooster.
  3. Color and cut out all of the pieces. You can choose whether or not to use the feathers.
  4. Glue the head and wings to the body of the rooster.
  5. If you are not going to be using the feathers cut the top of the paper plate so that it resembles feathers. If you are going to use the feathers glue them in a bunch (4 x 3) and then glue them to the body of the rooster.
  6. Glue the nest to the bottom of the paper plate.
  7. Finally, glue the assembled rooster just above the nest.

Easter Picture Cross

This cross craft can be made by your kids once you have gone over the Easter story or you can tell the story as they add each individual image to the cross.

Instructions

  1. Print the first page of the template on colored cardstock. Print the second page of the template on regular copy paper. (Template)
  2. Color all of the images.
  3. Cut out the cross and all of the images.
  4. Glue the image to the corresponding letter.

Easter Wreath

A cute and straightforward Easter decoration craft.

Instructions

  1. Print the template on card stock. (Template)
  2. Color a paper plate green using paint, crayons or markers.
  3. Remove the inside circle of the paper plate leaving a green ring.
  4. Color and cut out all of the pieces from the template.
  5. Glue the fern and palm leaves onto the paper plate ring.
  6. Glue on the Happy Easter banner.
  7. Finally glue on the clothes rags and Easter lilies.

Jesus Ascension

This quick craft will help illustrate the story of Jesus’ ascension.

“9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.10 And as they were gazing intently into [h]the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.11 They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into[i]the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11

Instructions

  1. Print the template on card stock. (Template)
  2. Color the main image and the Jesus figure.
  3. Cut out the Jesus figure and the attachment parts.
  4. Assemble the Jesus figure and handle: Glue the singular rectangular piece to the back of the Jesus figure. Then take the longer attachment piece and bend the solid lines creating creases. Glue the two larger rectangles together. Finally glue the smaller rectangles to the rectangle on the back of the Jesus figure.
  5. Cut on the solid line on the main image.
  6. Stick the Jesus figure piece through the slit on the main image. The Jesus figure can now go up and down.
