Christmas Nativity Scene
We made these Christmas nativity scenes this week for our childrens programs.
Instructions
- Print the template onto heavy cardstock. (Template)
- Color and cut out all of the pieces.
- On the largest piece fold along the dashed lines all the way to the top. By doing this you are creating the sides.
- Fold the bottom of the largest piece and cut just on the dashed lines.
- Glue the bottom (hay) piece to the largest piece.
- Fold the bottom of each of the figure pieces.
- Glue the Jesus set to the middle of the scene.
- Finally glue the other figure on each side of the Jesus set.
Feel free to spruce up the crafts by using actual hay on the bottom of the scene or using glitter on the star and hay.
You can also leave the background of the scene white and place a flameless candle behind the assembled craft.
Christmas Wrapping Paper Ornaments
Instructions
- Print the template. (Template)
- Cut out the stencils.
- Trace the stencils on colored cardstock or construction paper.
- Cut out the ornament borders.
- Glue the ornament borders onto the wrapping paper of your choice.
- Cut off any excess wrapping paper.
- Glue a piece of ribbon or yarn to the back of the assembled ornament.

Paper Bag Turkey
This cute turkey craft is made out of a simple paper lunch bag and is fun to make for kids of all ages.

Instructions
- Print the template. (Template)
- Color and cut out all of the pieces. You have two tail feather options to choose from.
- Glue the head to the bottom of the paper bag.
- Glue the belly/ body portion to the middle of the paper bag.
- Glue the wings to the back of the paper bag.
- Finally glue the tail feather option that you chose to the upper back of the bag.
Coat Of Many Colors Pipe Cleaner Coat
A great craft for the story of Joseph’s coat of many colors.
“Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors.” Genesis 37:3
Instructions
- Print the template. (Template)
- Color and cut out the figure.
- Glue strips of different colored pipe cleaners/chenille stems onto the coat of the Joseph figure.
Optional: Instead of using pipe cleaners you can use glitter, string, yarn or paint.
Keys Of Salvation
This craft will serve as a great evangelism tool.
Each key represents an important part of the Gospel message and includes a lock with a wonderful promise from Christ.
Instructions
- Print the template either on construction paper or white card stock. (Template)
- If printed on white card stock color in the keys.
- Cut out the keys.
- Hold the keys together using a variety of materials: pipe cleaners, yarn, paper fasteners, actual metal key rings, or shower curtain rings.
Daniel In The Lions Den Puppet 1
With this craft your kids will be able to make their very own lion for the story of Daniel in the lions den.
I also have a version were the lion appears to be talking. (Version 2)
Instructions
- Print the template. (Template)
- Turn a paper sandwich/lunch bag upside down. Paint the small square blue and the large square green. You can also use tissue paper or construction paper.
- Color and cut out all of the pieces from the template.
- Glue the head of the lion onto the blue square.
- Glue the smaller legs to the body of the lion.
- Glue the tail onto the body of the lion.
- Glue the body of the lion onto the green square.
- Optional: Cut off any extra green area from the bottom of the puppet.
Bible Sun Catcher
Instructions
- Print the template onto card stock. (Template)
- Glue the template sheet to the back of a sheet of black construction paper.
- Cut out all of the white from the template. You will be left with the Bible border shape and the small cross shape.
- Place the Bible shape onto a self laminating sheet or contact paper, construction paper side down.
- Place the cross shape onto the self laminating sheet or contact paper.
- Fill the inside of the Bible with tissue paper.
- Cover with another sheet of self laminating sheet or contact paper.
- Cut out the Bible from the laminating sheet or contact paper.
- Stick the Bible to your window with double sided tape.
Coat Of Many Colors Sun Catcher

- Print the template onto card stock. (Template)
- Glue the template sheet to the back of a sheet of black construction paper.
- Cut out all of the white of the inside of the coat from the template.
- Then cut out the whole figure.
- Place the figure of Joseph onto a self laminating sheet or contact paper, Joseph’s face-side down.
- Fill the inside of the coat with different color tissue paper.
- Cover with another sheet of self laminating sheet or contact paper.
- Cut out Joseph from the laminating sheet or contact paper.
- Stick Joseph onto your window with double sided tape.
Popsicle Stick Ark Of The Covenant
Your kids will use simple materials in order to create their own ark of the covenant.
While your kids are making their very own ark of the covenant, go over why the ark was built, its purpose and significance.
Instructions
- Print the template on card stock or construction paper. (Template)
- Color and cut out the ark of the covenant template. Skip the coloring step by printing the template on gold construction paper.
- Glue yellow colored popsicle sticks onto the template. You can also paint regular wooden popsicle sticks yellow using markers or paint.
- If you desire, decorate the ark of the covenant using glitter.
