Fall Of Man
Use this craft to tell the story of the fall of man. This will present a great opportunity for you to share the Gospel with your kiddos.
Instructions
- Print the template onto a piece of cardstock. (Template)
- Color the snake.
- Form the head by adding glue on the dash lines.
- Next glue on the eyes and then the tongue.
- Glue the side tabs together to form a ring. Make sure your finger can fit through the rings.
Aaron’s Rod Becomes a Snake
God appeared to Moses in a burning bush and told Moses He was sending him to Pharaoh to bring Gods people out of Egypt. Moses had many objections to God’s plan. He was fearful of Pharaoh rather than trusting in God. Four times he expressed his fear to God. When Moses expressed his lack of faith a fifth time, God became angry. Although God was angry with Moses, He had compassion on Moses. He understood Moses weakness and told Moses that He would send Aaron with him.
“The Lord said, “Moses, when the king asks you and Aaron to perform a miracle, command Aaron to throw his walking stick down in front of the king, and it will turn into a snake.” Exodus 7:8-9
Instructions
- Print out the template. (Template)
- Cut out all of the pieces.
- Trace them onto construction paper. For the rod use brown. For the snake your kiddos can be creative.
- Assemble the snake and cut of any overhang of construction paper so you are left with a perfect snake shape.
- Glue the rod onto a piece of cardstock.
- Cut it out leaving a small white border.
- Then glue on the snake.
The kiddos can also draw on wood designs onto the rod if they choose.
Seek Ye First
Worrying about our needs is not trusting God. We want our kiddos to not worry about their needs, but rather trust God to take care of them.
Make sure you clarify to the kiddos what those needs are. You find them in the context of the passage. “…as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on.” Matthew 6:25 We don’t want our kids going home thinking God promises to get them a new Xbox 🙂
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “ Matthew 6:33
Instructions
- Paint a paper plate blue.
- Print out the templates. (Template)
- Trace the templates onto construction paper.
- Glue on the nest to the paper plate.
- Then decorate the nest with strips of construction paper, hay, craft feathers, small leaves, or string.
- Next glue on the eggs. As many as you choose.
- Assemble the bird and then glue it on the nest.
- Finally glue on the branch to the paper plate.
If the kiddos choose to they can add paper flowers, leaves, or even tissue paper onto the tree branch.
Miraculous Catch Of Fish
Peter and his friends were experienced fishermen; they knew what they were doing. They had fished all night without catching a single fish. So when Jesus told him to row to a deeper part of the lake and lower his net it took a lot of trust from Peter. The trust and faith he had for Jesus led him to obey and this is what we want our kiddos to learn. Trusting in the word of God leads to obedience.
Instructions
- Print out the disciples in the boat page. (Template)
- Color the main image.
- Color and cut out the fish templates.
- Glue the fish onto the main image. Use as many fish as you like.
- Cut a sheet of white, brown or gray construction paper into thin strips. The thickness depends on the age of the children that will be making the craft. Younger kids will need thicker strips and older kids can use really thin ones.
- Glue the strips onto the main page, one at a time, in a crisscross pattern to make the net.
Jesus Rides A Donkey Into Jerusalem
This donkey craft helps the kiddos remember the Easter story of Jesus triumphantly entering into Jerusalem, with crowds waiving palm branches and crying out “Hosanna”.
Instructions
- Print out and color the donkey templates. (Template)
- Cut out the donkey and glue both sides together.
- Paint/color two clothespins gray.
- Then paint the bottom of the clothes pins black for the hooves.
- Using small pieces of black string, glue them onto the mane and the tail of the donkey. Cut off any excess string.
- Add the clothes pins to the finished body of the donkey.
This craft can also be made for the story of Balaam’s donkey.
God The Creator And Sustainer
You can find dozens and dozens of crafts online to help you teach the kiddos that God is the Creator. Many times we forget to emphasize to the kids that He is also our sustainer.
God not only created everything around us, but He has total control over everything we see. Make this an emphasis to the kiddos. Tell them every day they wake up it is because God has given them life. God makes the sun come up. He blesses us with food for our tables. He is very merciful towards us each and every day.
“You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of Your hands.” Hebrews 1:10
Instructions
- Color a paper plate blue.
- Print the template and cut out all the pieces. (Template)
- Cut out pieces of green construction paper or tissue paper.
- Glue them onto the continents.
- Then cut out any overhang leaving perfect shapes.
- Glue the finished continents onto the painted paper plate.
- Cut of any excess overhang to leave a perfect round paper plate.
- Trace a pair of hands onto brown or tan construction paper. I suggest that you use an adults hands for this.
- Cut them out.
- Glue the hands behind the globe, thumbs facing out.
- Finally bend the fingers twice, to have them coming in. As if the hands were holding up the globe.
Pillar Of Fire And Of Cloud
God never abandoned the Israelites in the dessert and in the same way God does not abandon His children.
Through this story the kiddos will learn that God is always with His children guiding them and protecting them.
Instructions
- Wrap a toilet paper roll with blue construction paper and a second one with either black or purple construction paper.
- On the blue toilet paper, glue on white cotton balls. Different sizes and patterns.
- With the black roll, using red, yellow and/or orange tissue paper, make little bunches and then glue them onto the pillar.
I have included flame templates in case you do not wish to use the tissue paper. (Template)
Balaam’s Donkey
We can be very stubborn when we want to do things our way. Many times this happens when we are doing something wrong.
This craft will help the kiddos remember to always listen to what God says and not be as stubborn as Balaam. And like Balaam’s donkey, to always speak up when it comes to standing up for God’s truth.
Instructions
- Print and color the template. (Template)
- Cut it out and glue it onto a piece on cardstock or construction paper.
- Cut out the template from the cardstock or construction paper.
- Glue on two large googly eyes and black string for the hair.
- Finally glue on a large craft stick for a handle.
You can also use this craft for Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem or Mary and Joseph’s trip to Bethlehem.
Sing To The Lord Tambourine
“Sing praise to the Lord, you His godly ones, and give thanks to His holy name.” Psalm 30:4
Instructions
- Print out the template and color it. Use the one that best fits the plates you will be using. You will need two circles. (Template)
- Cut out the circles.
- If the paper plates you will be using are stiff enough you will only need two. One for each side of the tambourine. If they are thin, then use four. Glue two together, at the end you will have two sides.
- Glue one template to each side.
- Lay one side down fill it with pinto beans, garbanzo beans or pebbles.
- Lay the second plate on top. Staple it shut. Add enough staples so that the filling does not come out.
If you choose you can cover up the staples using a little bit of white-out. After you finish stapling it shut, you can use a hole puncher around the edge. Then add different colored ribbons.
The Twelve Spies Bookmark
Trust. That is what ten of the spies lacked. They saw with their own eyes that the land was just as God had said it would be. They saw how God protected them and sustained them in the desert. Yet they focused on the difficulties of the situation.
We want our kiddos to be like Caleb. He saw the promise of God before him. He had total trust in God and in His promises. We should teach our kiddos to trust in God, even in the face of difficult obstacles and that is what this craft will remind them of every time they use it.
Instructions
- Print out the templates onto colored paper or construction paper . (Template)
- Cut out the leaves and the grapes. You will need around 20 grapes.
- Cut out the Trust template.
- Glue the leaves to the Trust template. Then the grapes.
- Cut of any excess grape overhang so that there is a clean edge.
- Glue onto a piece of white card stock.
- Cut it out leaving a small border of cardstock.
- Then glue onto a piece of purple construction paper.
- Finally cut it out again leaving a small border of purple construction paper.
For a variation you could use different shades of purple for the grapes.
I have also included an “I Am The Vine” template as a variation to this craft.
